December 7th Group: this week we will focus on planning your meals! This week you should be figuring out a reasonable routine and cadence for planning your meals. This really doesn't have to be detailed down to every single meal. What it could mean is looking forward to dinners during the week where you know you will have time to cook or those times when you will be busy. A little planning can prevent poor performance, but don't overwhelm yourself. Some questions to ask yourself:1. How many meals will I have to plan to cook this week?1. Will I need to plan a meal that I can throw together quickly? 1. Will I need to go out to eat, therefore will need to look at healthy options ahead of time?I personally have gotten in the habit of having at least two super quick meal ideas for busy nights. Two of my favorites I pretty much always have ready to make are:1. frozen asian veggies sauteed with chicken or tofu and a little ginger and soy sauce1. tacos or taco salad with lean ground beef, taco seasoning, canned beans, and a couple quick chopped up veggiesYummly is a great app for both planning and execution. At every meal you cook, quick or not, you can make extras to take for lunch the next day. You can also choose a day to cook in bulk if you'd like. Need to eat out often? Start curating a list of your go-to options and dishes. Doing this thinking ahead of time will prevent a less suitable decision due to busy-ness, fatigue, and perhaps the case of the "fuck-it"s.
